What relaxation massage involves

Relaxation massage uses gentler pressure and an unhurried pace. It’s less about working into tight spots and more about giving you space to switch off, let your shoulders drop and take a little time for yourself.

Pressure is kept to what feels comfortable throughout, in a calm, private room at Soma Wellbeing Centre in the city centre.

Common reasons people book

  • Winding down after a busy or stressful week
  • Preferring lighter pressure
  • Taking some time just for yourself
  • A calmer session between sports or deep tissue treatments

When to check first

If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or are recovering from an injury or operation, ask Mo before you book.

What happens in a relaxation massage

Your first appointment follows the same shape. If anything is unclear, ask before you book.

Before you start

Tell Mo how you’re feeling, how firm you’d like the pressure and any areas you’d rather avoid. Let him know about any health conditions or medication.

Tailored to you

The massage is adapted to you, with gentle pressure that stays comfortable throughout.

The massage

An unhurried pace in a quiet, private room. 90 minutes gives you longer to switch off.

Afterwards

Take a moment before heading back out. Some clients book a one-off session to unwind; others come back regularly to make time for themselves.

Relaxation massage questions

Something else on your mind? Ask Mo a question on WhatsApp, email or call 07309 054763.

How is relaxation massage different from sports massage?

Relaxation massage uses gentle pressure and a slower pace, focused on helping you unwind. Sports and deep tissue massage use firmer, more targeted work for tight or tired muscles.

How much pressure is used?

Gentle pressure, tailored to your comfort. Let Mo know at any point if you’d like it lighter or a little firmer.

How often should I book?

There’s no set schedule. You might book a one-off session or come back regularly for some time to yourself. Choose what suits your routine, and ask Mo if you’d like to talk it through. Read the guide to how often to book a massage.

Should I book 60 or 90 minutes?

Both session lengths use gentle pressure and an unhurried pace. Choose 90 minutes if you’d like longer to switch off, or ask Mo if you’re unsure.

Is there anything I should tell Mo first?

Yes: any injuries, health conditions or medication, so the treatment can be adapted. If you’re not sure whether massage is suitable for you, ask Mo before you book.
