60 or 90 minutes: Which massage appointment should I book?

By Mo Vadillo

You might want a full-body massage, or prefer to focus on one or two areas. Choosing between 60 and 90 minutes depends on your priorities, the pace you prefer, your available time and your budget. A 90-minute appointment gives you more time for the session.

At Mo Sports Massage in Norwich, both lengths are available for sports, deep tissue and relaxation massage. Here is how to choose between them.

What do 60 and 90 minutes cost?

  • 60-minute massage: £50 total. Pay a £10 deposit when booking, then £40 at your appointment.
  • 90-minute massage: £75 total. Pay a £10 deposit when booking, then £65 at your appointment.

Your £10 deposit is part of the total price. The longer appointment costs £25 more for an extra 30 minutes, so both options have the same hourly rate. You don’t need to book 90 minutes just to get a better price per minute.

When might 60 minutes suit you?

A 60-minute appointment may suit you when an hour fits your day and budget. Tell Mo whether you would like a full-body massage or more focused work, such as attention on your shoulders and upper back. You can then agree how to use the time around your preferences.

Before you arrive, decide what matters most to you. You could say, “My shoulders are the main thing I would like to focus on today.” You do not need to name a muscle or arrive with a detailed treatment plan.

When might 90 minutes suit you?

You might prefer 90 minutes if you would like more time for a full-body massage, several areas you want to focus on, or simply a longer session. Tell Mo what matters most so you can agree how to use the extra time.

What if it is your first appointment?

You do not have to choose the longest appointment because you are new to massage. Start with your priorities, available time and budget. If you are unsure whether those fit into 60 or 90 minutes, ask Mo before booking.

Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time for a quick chat before your massage. It helps to mention the areas you would like to focus on and whether you have had a massage before. You can read the first-visit guide for what to wear, what happens when you arrive and how to ask questions during your appointment.

Choose the treatment as well as the time

Both lengths are available for sports massage, deep tissue massage and relaxation massage. If you are still choosing the type of massage, the treatment comparison guide can help with that separate decision.
