A relaxation massage is an option for when you would mainly like some quiet time, gentler pressure and a calmer pace. You can book simply because you would like time to unwind.
At Mo Sports Massage in Norwich, the session is shaped around your preferences. You can choose particular areas or a full-body session, depending on what you would like and the time you have booked. Here is what to discuss with Mo before you start.
What makes the session a relaxation massage?
The emphasis is on gentler pressure and an unhurried pace in a quiet, private room at Soma Wellbeing Centre. You might be looking for a calmer appointment after a busy week, prefer a lighter touch, or simply want to make some time for yourself.
Can I choose which areas are massaged?
Yes. Mo offers either a session focused on the areas you choose or a full-body session, depending on your preferences and appointment length. Mention what you would most like included and any areas you would rather leave out. You and Mo can then agree a suitable focus for the time available.
Choosing a full-body session does not mean you have to agree to every area being included. Your preferences still matter, and you can change your mind during the appointment.
How do I explain what I want?
Plain language is enough. For example, you could say:
- “I would like a gentle massage today.”
- “I would prefer to focus on my back and shoulders.”
- “I would like a full-body session, but there are a couple of areas I want to leave out.”
These are suggestions for starting the conversation, not words you need to memorise. Please arrive a few minutes early so there is time for a quick chat. Let Mo know about relevant health conditions or medication, and ask before booking if you are unsure whether massage is appropriate for you.
What if the pressure does not feel right?
You can ask for lighter pressure, a change of area, a pause or a stop. You do not need to put up with discomfort because you have booked a particular treatment. Saying what feels comfortable helps Mo adapt the session to you.
Should I choose 60 or 90 minutes?
Choose around your priorities, time and budget. A 60-minute relaxation massage may be ideal if you want to unwind and focus on a few areas, while 90 minutes allows more time for a longer, unhurried session. If you’re unsure, you can discuss your preferences with Mo. Our 60 or 90 minute appointment guide explains the choice in more detail.
A 60-minute relaxation massage costs £50, while a 90-minute session costs £75. Both require a £10 booking deposit, which is deducted from the total, leaving £40 or £65 to pay at your appointment.
